  • All appointments must be booked in advance. Schedule your booking here online or call us at 204-296-3389, ext. 0.
  • We reserve the right to prioritize services for those with more need.
  • Services offered during Open Shop include; Bike Repairs, Part Sales, Bike Builds ($40 for a bike, including a bike lock).
  • Location: 1057 Logan Avenue in the basement of the Animal Services Building.

Guidelines for maintaining COVID safety when you come for your appointment:

1) Please wear a mask. Masks are mandatory inside the building.

2) Arrive on time, or a few minutes early. If you are purchasing a bike, skip the following steps to #8

3) When you arrive, check inside the front door and look down the stairs at 1057 Logan. Pause.

a) If someone is there, please wait till they come back up the stairs and leave.

b) If no one is in the stairwell receiving service, proceed with your bike (if you are bringing it) down the stairs, and let the mechanic know you are there for your appointment.

4) Once you have talked with the mechanic, if there is any reason to wait (you are receiving a repair, or waiting for a bike build), we ask you to leave the premises until we call you on your cell phone with an update. Please do not remain in the building while waiting for service from the WRENCH. Plan to dress for the weather if you think you will be outside for any length of time.

5) When you return to pick up your bike, please pause again at the top of the stairs and check if anyone is already receiving service. Wait until they come up the stairs and leave to go down and collect your bike.

6) Please avoid lingering in the stairwell or foyer for any length of time. Please also maintain social distancing practices at all times. We share space with Animal Services, and try to be as respectful as possible in our shared use of the building while also maintaining strong public health practice.

7) Note that there is hand sanitizer just inside the door at the bottom of the stairs. Please use it!

8) Buying a bike? Head north on Warnock (the side street to 1057 Logan), and then left on Henry. You’ll quickly see the loading dock behind the building. Descend the loading dock and knock on the garage door at your appointment time. Please wear a mask when inside the building.

Thanks! We can’t wait to see you!

Empty the Fill: Back 2 School Build-a-thon!

The event will be held outdoors, with plenty of space between each repair stand, and a full set of tools per station. Volunteer Mechanics will work individually at a stand, unless they are in a pod/bubble together (family, partners, roommates, etc). Everyone will be required to answer a short COVID-19 questionnaire upon arrival.

Rides / Carpooling: If you have room in your vehicle and are willing to offer a ride to another volunteer, please let us know! We ask that when giving rides you maintain as much physical distance with the other person as possible (front seat/back seat). We can also give you disinfecting spray which is to be used on the commonly touched surfaces in your car, and masks to wear while inside the vehicle. If you are in need of a ride, please let us know and we will do our best to find another volunteer willing to help you.

So… you in?? Please email Jon at cog@thewrench.ca with your preferred shifts before they all fill up!

The WRENCH at the Forks

The WRENCH at the Forks summer season of 2020. Things are slightly different this year due to COVID, but we are here to get you rolling on a bike! For more information see below.

Forks Bicycle Sales – Saturdays 12-6pm

From road bikes, to mountain bikes, vintage cruisers, to custom commuters, our ever changing selection has a bicycle for everyone! With each sale supporting The WRENCH’s bicycle programming for children and families across Winnipeg!

*Please note bike sales are only at this location for the summer season.

Forks Bicycle Repairs – Sundays 12-6pm

We are happy to be able to offer COVID-safe bike repairs and used part sales. In order to maintain physical distancing, bicycles are being worked on by WRENCH staff and are sanitized upon completion. All repair services and used parts are by sliding-scale donation.

The WRENCH at the Forks is located at the box cars, in the North-West corner of the Forks Market building.

The WRENCH is providing COVID-safe bike repairs!

We are now open Thursdays from 12 – 4:30 at 1057 Logan to help you with bike repairs and parts sales!

WRENCH staff will be set up outdoors to accept bicycles for repairs and take orders for used parts. All repairs will be done inside by WRENCH staff and sanitized upon completion.

We continue offering affordable sliding-scale pricing for repairs and used parts. In order to ensure physical distancing we cannot have the public in our shop, this means that volunteering is not possible at this time.

Open Shop days are intended to give access to those who cannot otherwise afford bicycle repair services.

Please note that we cannot offer Bike Builds at this time.

*Update* WRENCH closure

All WRENCH programming is suspended until mid July, 2020.

WRENCH community, we are all thinking of you in this trying time and want you to know that we are working hard at building services to offer you during the closure of our space and programming. In the meantime, we hope you are still enjoying riding your bikes in accordance to all social distancing safety recommendations!
