August Workshop: Bike Touring

Saturday, August 24th 12:30-2pm @ The WRENCH (1057 Logan)

Bike Touring/Packing Tips & Tricks

In his 14 years of traveling by bike Geoff has toured in 10 countries and figures he’s learned a few things along the way. But maybe you have too? He’ll lead a round-table discussion covering touring topics such as; routing, tools, camp gear, clothing, online resources, food, bikes and roadside repair. We’ll also nerd out on some tour bike set-ups and provide advice on how to build one up for yourself.

Newbies and seasoned roadwarriors welcome to come contribute & learn!

July Workshop: Headsets

Free Workshop: Headsets

July 27th, 12-2pm at the WRENCH (1057 Logan ave)

Ever wonder what is going on between the handlebars and the front wheel of your bicycle? How does steering work and how do you make it as smooth as possible? And what on earth is the difference between a threaded and thread-less headset, anyways?

We know that headsets can be a mysterious part of the bicycle, so come on down and let us demystify this essential component system!

Workshop is free and open to all, no skills required.

CycloFemme – Winnipeg 2019

CycloFemme is a grass-roots global celebration of women on bikes.

Every year on Mother’s Day women around the world share in the joy and empowerment of riding a bike by coming together in self-initiated rides and sharing their stories online with #CycloFemme.

In Winnipeg, Cyclofemme is a fun, chill, group ride run by women for all women (cis and trans), genderqueer and non-binary people. EVERYONE (male- identified folks included) is/are welcome to attend and support women in cycling.

Meet @ 10:30am
Ride leaves @ 11am

Location: The Oodeena Circle at
The Forks (click for map) *please note Oodena circle is not the skating circle with the canopy*

Route: A very scenic and beautiful ~2hr route, starting at the Forks and winding through the South Osborne / Churchill Drive area. There will be stops for candy and games at a river-side park and we will finish off at the Mother’s Day Market (725 Kylemore ave)!

Let’s make this the best CycloFemme yet!

**Need a hand tuning up your bike? Or need a new one altogether?**

March Workshop: Getting Stuck Stuff Unstuck

Saturday, March 16th     12pm-2pm

Seized seat-posts? Stuck stems? A bottom bracket that won’t budge?

Stuck parts can be a frustrating part of repairing old bicycles — but don’t give up, there is hope!

On March 16, join Geoff as he teaches the ins and outs of getting the in stuff out. This workshop will teach participants a variety of techniques for using specialty tools, solvents, heat, leverage and colourful language to get rusty ol bike parts moving again.

This workshop is free (donations welcome), and no pre-registration is required.
