Saturday, March 16th 12pm-2pm
Seized seat-posts? Stuck stems? A bottom bracket that won’t budge?
Stuck parts can be a frustrating part of repairing old bicycles — but don’t give up, there is hope!
On March 16, join Geoff as he teaches the ins and outs of getting the in stuff out. This workshop will teach participants a variety of techniques for using specialty tools, solvents, heat, leverage and colourful language to get rusty ol bike parts moving again.
This workshop is free (donations welcome), and no pre-registration is required.
Saturday, April 27th 12:30-4:30pm
It’s the 4th annual No-Weld Bike Trailer Building Workshop!
A few years ago one of our beloved volunteers, Rob, came up with his very own brilliant design for a sturdy, single-wheeled no-weld bicycle trailer, using old bicycle frames. Now is your chance to learn from him how to build one of your very own!
***Participants must e-transfer $25 (includes trailer) to firstname.lastname@example.org with the password “wrench” to register!***
This workshop is always very popular and has a cap of only 8 participants so don’t dilly dally on this one!
To have a peek at what the workshop will entail, or if you want to DIY, Rob has generously shared the instructions for his innovative design online: www.instructables.com/id/No-Weld-Single-Wheel-Bike-Trailer/
Saturday, Jan 26th, 12-2pm
Back by popular demand! We are thrilled to be offering another informative workshop by Kim Segal (RMT) on The Bicycle & The Body.
In this workshop Kim will elaborate upon the ergonomics of bike riding, how to achieve proper bike fit for maximum comfort and minimal strain, as well as working with / preventing injuries.
This workshop is free (though donations are welcome!) and open to the public, no pre-registration required.

Workshop: Vintage Cruiser Wheels: Saturday July 28th, 1-4pm
VINTAGE CRUISERS (aka “Beach Bikes”); classic beauties, but dang they sure can be a challenge to repair!
Rear wheels on vintage cruisers are especially complex, as their hubs (the centre of the wheels) generally contain inside them either a back-pedal (coaster) brake OR an internal 3-speed “Sturmy-Archer” gear shifting mechanism (I know, I know, don’t worry, all will be explained in the workshop).
Basically, if you have ever ridden on or tried to repair a vintage cruiser wheel and wondered “now what the heck is goin’ on in there anyways?!” then this workshop is for you!
And if that particular thought has never occurred to you until now but you just think bikes are neat and want to learn more about how they work, then this workshop is for you!
All tools and instruction is provided, free of charge (donations welcome). All skill levels welcome (don’t be nervous we are all learning together!)
Come learn how to make a fun, taxidermy style wall-hanging out of recycled bicycle parts!
Saturday, June 23rd from 12:30-4:30pm
Suggested Donation $5-20
